MidPoint Fest Lines Up Free Cinci Concert Series

There have been some wonderful things happening down in Cincinnati over the past few years as far as music festivals go. From MusicNOW to the MidPoint Music Festival, the city is quickly solidifying itself as Ohio's premiere destinations for independent music in a festival setting.

This year the folks at MidPoint have really outdone themselves; not only will they be putting on their regularly scheduled festival from September 23-25, but they're also presenting a free Indie Summer concert series. The shows go down every Friday at 7:00 on Fountain Square, starting June 4 and going through September 3. Headliners and opening acts for the inaugural show are listed below, but you can find full line-ups listed here. I'm extremely impressed with the acts they've booked, and just a little disappointed that I'll be out of state for all this. At the very least, I'll be making the trek down for the Camera Obscura show, but those of you nearby should definitely be taking advantage of this series all summer.

June 4 - Camera Obscura w/ The Love Language & Paper Airplanes
June 11 - Neon Indian
June 18 - Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit
June 25 - Smoking Popes
July 2 - Pomegranates
July 9 - Why?
July 16 - You You’re Awesome
July 23 - Wussy
July 30 - Eat Sugar
Aug 6 - Dawes
Aug 13 - Buffalo Killers
Aug 20 - Bad Veins
Aug 27 - Brian Olive
Sept 3 - We Are Scientists
